KUALA LUMPUR: Lee Zii Jia put on a commanding display to secure his spot in the Orleans Masters quarter-finals, brushing aside former world No. 1 K. Srikanth with ease on Thursday (March 6).
The independent men’s singles shuttler, now under the guidance of new coach Yeoh Kay Bin, looked in fine form as he dominated the second round clash at the Palais des Sports in France.
Srikanth, a World Championships silver medallist in 2021, had no answers to Zii Jia’s sharp attacking play.
The Malaysian wrapped up the match in just 30 minutes with a convincing 21-11, 21-17 victory.
Zii Jia will now await the winner of the second-round tie between Japan’s Yushi Tanaka and Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen to determine his next opponent.
