Xiamen, April 28 – After beating France 5-0 on Monday, the Malaysian badminton team is poised for another commanding victory in their second group match at the 2025 Sudirman Cup Mixed Team Championships in Xiamen, China.

Rotating their lineup with eight fresh players, Malaysia will rely on the former men’s doubles World Champions, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, to lead the charge against Australia in Group C on Tuesday, with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line.
The match order for this Group C encounter will be mixed doubles, men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, and women’s doubles.
In the opening match, Malaysia’s reunited world No. 4 mixed doubles pair, Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, will take on Australia’s Ricky Tang and Gronya Somerville.
Rising men’s singles star, Malaysia’s No. 46 ranked Justin Hoh, will make his Sudirman Cup debut facing world No. 299 Shrey Dhand.
In women’s singles, world No. 52 Karupathevan Letshanaa will battle Australia’s Teoh Kaiqi (world No. 126).
Malaysia is expected to seal victory early by winning the first three matches.
Later, newly crowned Asian Champions and world No. 4 men’s doubles pair, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, are set to take on Australia’s Jack Yu and Frederick Zhao. Meanwhile, the scratch women’s doubles pair of Go Pei Kee and Carmen Ting will face Australia’s Gronya Somerville and Angela Yu.
