Saarbrücken, Germany — Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie ended his European campaign on a high note, capturing the 2025 Hylo Open men’s singles title after a commanding victory over Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen in the final on Sunday.
The world No. 5 triumphed 21–14, 21–14 in just 42 minutes to lift his third BWF World Tour trophy of the season, following earlier titles at the Korea Open and Denmark Open.

Christie Dominates in Style
Johannesen started aggressively, taking a 4–0 lead in the first game. However, Jonatan quickly responded with a 6–0 burst, flipping momentum in his favor. At 9–9, the Indonesian shifted gears, controlling the rallies and sealing the opener 21–14.
In the second game, the 28-year-old Indonesian took charge from the start, racing to a 4–0 lead and maintaining control throughout. His precise smashes and patient defensive play left Johannesen with few answers, as Jonatan clinched the match and celebrated his third title of 2025.
Women’s Singles: Mia Blichfeldt Retains Her Title
In the women’s singles final, Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt edged Indonesia’s top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani 21–11, 7–21, 21–12 to defend her Hylo Open crown.
The Danish No. 2 seed now leads the head-to-head 2–0 against Putri and secured her first title of the 2025 season in front of a delighted European crowd.
Men’s Doubles: Taiwan’s Chiu/Wang Capture Second Title of 2025
Chinese Taipei’s Chiu Hsiang Chieh/Wang Chi-Lin claimed the men’s doubles title after outlasting Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani 21–19, 21–18 in 41 minutes.
It was the Taiwanese duo’s second BWF title this year, following their triumph at the Taipei Open.
After a tight first game that saw Chiu/Wang edge their opponents 21–19, they built a 5–0 lead in the second game before Indonesia fought back with an 8–0 run. Still, the Taiwanese pair kept their composure to finish strong and seal the victory 21–18.
Women’s Doubles: France’s Lambert/Pognante Claim Home Glory
In the women’s doubles final, Margot Lambert/Camille Pognante of France thrilled local fans by defeating Taiwan’s Hsu Yin-Hui/Lin Jhih Yun 21–16, 21–10 to lift the title.
This marks the French pair’s second consecutive win over the Taiwanese duo and their first BWF title of the season.
Mixed Doubles: Denmark’s Christiansen/Bøje Take the Crown
Denmark’s Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Bøje captured the mixed doubles title after a hard-fought 23–21, 21–15 victory over France’s Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue.
The Danish duo’s resilience in key points earned them their first Super 500 title of the year, extending Denmark’s dominance across the European leg of the BWF tour.
