PETALING JAYA; The challenge of Malaysia in the men’s doubles ended with the defeat of Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani in the All-England.
The professional shuttlers went down 16-21, 13-21 to South Koreans Kim Won-ho-Seo Seung-jae of South Korea in a 36-minute second round match in Birmingham on Thursday (March 13).
Sze Fei-Izzuddin had beaten the Malaysian Open champions in the final en route to winning the Indian Open title in January.
In Birmingham though, they were unable to reproduce the same brilliance.
Said Sze Fei: “They were faster than us, and had a better control of the game. We tried to create chances but they were better.
Sze Fei-Izzuddin will shift their focus to the Swiss Open next week, and will be out to do better than their second round finish at the last edition.
