Singapore — Malaysia’s top men’s doubles duo, Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, delivered a spectacular comeback to claim the 2025 Singapore Open title, marking their third championship this season. In a thrilling final showdown, the world No. 3 pair overcame South Korea’s Kim Won Ho and Seo Seung Jae with a 15-21, 21-18, 21-19 victory in a high-pressure 64-minute battle.

This victory avenges their previous loss to the Korean pair at the India Open semifinals earlier this year. It also marks their fourth consecutive final appearance, following recent runs at the Asian Championships, Thailand Open, and Malaysia Masters.
Chia/Soh pocketed a prize purse of USD 74,000 (~RM310,000) for the win, while the runners-up took home USD 35,000 (~RM148,000).
The final was intense. After losing the first game, the Malaysians regained control in the second and held their nerves in the decider—fending off a late surge from the Koreans to seal the match at 21-19. It was Malaysia’s first men’s doubles victory at the Singapore Open since 2008.
The pair’s 2025 achievements now include three titles: the Asian Championships, the Thailand Open, and now the Singapore Open—cementing their status as one of the hottest badminton duos of the season.
