A Sport that Cares – Badminton-News.com

Badminton England are pleased to announce the roll-out of a new minimum standards framework to ensure a safe, welcoming and inclusive experience for all those playing, working and volunteering in our sport.

Developed for our fantastic badminton community. Our standards are a benchmark for good practice and guidance to best support our affiliated clubs and groups to deliver amazing experiences for all.

Why have we introduced minimum standards?

Badminton is A Sport that Cares. We want to ensure we are supporting our community to create the best, most enjoyable, most inclusive, and safest environments to play.

Having these standards in place is helping clubs and participation groups to:

  • Implement strong governance
  • Develop a positive culture
  • Support volunteers in their roles
  • Minimise issues and conflicts
  • Engage with their members

What do we need to do?

We are asking you to review your current practices against our newly published minimum standards. Badminton England will also be helping you to do this via club visits and sharing best practice.

We are working with you to achieve the following:

  • Appoint a trained Club Welfare Officer
  • All coaches to be registered with Badminton England
  • Required policies and procedures in place
  • A positive culture providing welcoming, inclusive and safe environments for everyone involved

We want to develop badminton as the most inclusive and accessible sport in England by putting inclusion and safeguarding at the heart of our decision making, connecting everyone to and within the sport, providing welcoming, safe, inclusive and enjoyable environments.

We are here to help you elevate your standards and we want you to join us on this journey.

We are all at the heart of a thriving badminton community and we are proud that badminton is A Sport That Cares.
