Pearly-Thinaah’s future with BAM still a guessing game – Badminton-News.com

KUALA LUMPUR: Will women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah remain with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) or are they going independent with sponsors outside of BAM?

That is the burning question.

Women’s doubles coach Rosman Razak did not comment on the issue, but he expressed hope that the world No. 5 pair will stay with the national set-up.

“I didn’t ask them about this because my job is to focus on their training,” said Rosman after the training session at the Academy Badminton Malaysia (ABM).

“As a coach and part of BAM, I hope they (Pearly-Thinaah) will stay with us.

“But it’s not my concern at the moment, because it hasn’t affected their training.”

Rosman revealed that the pair are undergoing full training this week and getting ready to compete in the Asian Championships from April 8-13 in Ningbo, China.

Meanwhile, Pearly-Thinaah refused to give any comments about whether they are staying or leaving.

Paired since 2019, Pearly and Thinaah have spent six years together on the court, winning three World Tour titles, which are the 2021 Swiss Open, 2022 French Open and 2024 Hong Kong Open.

Both players share strong on-court chemistry, which has been a key factor in their success.
