Man Wei Chong/Tee Kai Wun Edge Indonesian Rivals in Thriller
Malaysia’s rising men’s doubles duo Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun battled past Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando/Bagas Maulana in a nail-biting second-round clash, winning 21–9, 17–21, 22–20 after 61 minutes.

It was their third meeting on the international stage, with the Malaysians claiming their second win over the world No. 10 pair.
Man and Tee dominated the opening game 21–9 after taking control midway through with a 4–0 scoring burst. The Indonesians responded in the second, maintaining an early lead to take it 21–17.
The decider turned into a thriller — with both pairs exchanging the lead before Carnando/Maulana reached match point at 20–19. The Malaysians refused to back down, reeling off three consecutive points to close the match 22–20.
The pair will face Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in the quarter-finals after the seventh seeds defeated Germany’s Bjarne Geiss/Jones Ralfy Jansen 21–17, 16–21, 21–13.
Top Seeds Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik Cruise Through
Malaysia’s world No. 1 men’s doubles pair Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik also advanced comfortably, defeating Czech duo Jiří Král/Ondřej Král 21–14, 21–19.
The Olympic bronze medalists will next meet Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani of Indonesia, who eliminated France’s Christo Popov/Toma Junior Popov 21–12, 21–15.
Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin fell 9–21, 19–21 to Denmark’s Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard.
Women’s Doubles: Two Malaysian Pairs Reach Quarter-Finals
Malaysia also made headlines in the women’s doubles as two national pairs advanced to the quarter-finals.
Go Pei Kee/Teoh Mei Xing survived a tough test against Taiwan’s Teng Chun Hsun/Yang Chu Yun, rallying from behind to win 9–21, 23–21, 24–22. They will face Turkey’s Bengisu Ercetin/Nazlıcan Inci next.
Another Malaysian pair, Ong Xin Yee/Carmen Ting, defeated Spain’s Nikol Carulla/Carmen Maria Jimenez 25–23, 21–14 to earn a quarter-final clash with Taiwan’s Hsu Yin-Hui/Lin Jhih Yun.
Letshanaa and Kisona Exit in Round of 16
Malaysia’s women’s singles players couldn’t advance further. Karupathevan Letshanaa, ranked No. 45 in the world, lost 11–21, 13–21 to No. 19 seed Mia Blichfeldt of Denmark, while Kisona Selvaduray fell 11–21, 13–21 to top seed Putri Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia.
With four Malaysian doubles pairs still in contention, Malaysia remains strongly represented heading into the Hylo Open quarter-finals, continuing the country’s solid form in European tournaments this season.
