Men’s Singles: Li Shifeng Claims Historic Crown

World No. 4 Li Shifeng dismantled India’s Kidambi Srikanth in just 36 minutes, winning 21-11, 21-9 in a commanding performance. The 25-year-old became the first Chinese men’s singles champion in the tournament’s history, a feat even legends like Lin Dan never achieved—Lin’s best showing was only reaching the first round in 2018 and 2020.

“I honestly didn’t know I’d be the first Chinese player to win this event,” said Li. “I’ve only ever made it to the semifinals before, so this is a big motivation heading into the Singapore Open next week.”

Women’s Singles: Wang Zhiyi Defends Title

Top seed Wang Zhiyi outlasted fellow Chinese and second seed Han Yue 13-21, 21-13, 21-18 in a 75-minute thriller to defend her Malaysia Masters crown. Ranked world No. 2, Wang extended her strong form in Malaysia—calling it her “lucky ground.”

Mixed Doubles: Feng Yanzhe & Huang Dongping Survive Final Test

Feng Yanzhe and Huang Dongping, the No. 2 seeds, overcame top seeds Jiang Zhenbang/Wei Yaxin 21-17, 14-21, 21-16 in a tightly contested mixed doubles final. Dongping admitted they struggled in the second game but adapted tactically to clinch the title in 63 minutes.
