XIAMEN: China’s badminton juggernaut tightened its grip on the world stage, defeating South Korea 3-1 in the 2025 Sudirman Cup final to capture their record 14th championship—further solidifying their status as the most successful team in the history of this prestigious mixed-team tournament.

Playing in front of an electrified home crowd in Xiamen, the defending champions and top favorites faced off against four-time winners South Korea in a highly anticipated showdown.

China set the tone early as world No. 2 mixed doubles pair Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping delivered the first point, outlasting Seo Seung Jae and Chae Yu Jung 21-16, 17-21, 21-15 in a tense battle lasting one hour and 24 minutes.

But Korea quickly hit back. World No. 1 and reigning Olympic champion An Se Young leveled the tie by defeating Wang Zhi Yi 21-17, 21-16, using a late first-game surge to take control and wrap up the match in 57 minutes.
