Chen Yufei Ends Title Drought with Swiss Open Triumph
World No. 13 Chen Yufei captured her first BWF World Tour title of the year by defeating Denmark’s Line Højmark Kjaersfeldt in straight games, 21-17, 21-17, in a 49-minute final.

Chen opened the match strongly but trailed 11-15 in the first game before unleashing a decisive 8-0 run to seal it 21-17. In the second, she turned a narrow 9-10 deficit into another commanding lead and closed out the game without giving Kjaersfeldt a chance to respond.
This marks Chen’s second final appearance of 2025—she previously fell to An Se Young in the Orleans Masters. The Swiss Open victory is her first title since the 2023 Indonesia Open and her second career win at this event after her 2019 triumph.
Weng Hongyang Dominates Final to Capture Men’s Singles Title
World No. 17 Weng Hongyang crushed France’s Christo Popov 21-18, 21-3 in just 47 minutes to win his first World Tour title of the year and the second of his career.

After a tight first game, Weng turned up the heat in the second, producing a 13-point run and sealing the game 21-3, allowing just one point after the interval. The win marks China’s first men’s singles crown at the Swiss Open since Shi Yuqi’s 2019 victory.
All-Chinese Women’s Doubles Final Ends in Epic
In a grueling all-China showdown, fifth seeds Jia Yifan and Zhang Shuxian overcame top seeds Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning 21-19, 14-21, 21-17 in 94 minutes to claim the women’s doubles crown.
This is Jia/Zhang’s second final of the year following their runner-up finish at the Malaysia Open. The Swiss title marks their first title of the season and China’s first women’s doubles crown at the Swiss Open since 2017.
Thailand Makes History in Men’s Doubles
Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Kittinupong Kedren captured their maiden BWF World Tour title by defeating Indonesia’s Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Daniel Marthin 21-15, 18-21, 21-14 in a thrilling final.
This is the first time since the tournament’s inception in 1955 that Thailand has won a men’s doubles title at the Swiss Open.
China Secures Mixed Doubles Title
In another all-Chinese final, Feng Yanzhe and Wei Yaxin, seeded No. 5, powered past teammates Zhu Yijun and Zhang Chi 21-13, 21-15 to claim the mixed doubles crown. The victory adds another milestone for Feng/Wei, confirming their rising status on the world stage.
