An Se Young Crushes Chen Yufei Again, Advances to Semifinals
An Se Young continued her incredible form, dispatching Chen Yufei in straight games, 21-9, 21-14, to book her place in the All England Open semifinals. This victory comes just four days after she defeated Chen in the Orleans Masters final.

This was their 22nd career meeting, with Chen Yufei still leading the head-to-head 12-10. However, An has won their last two encounters convincingly, further cementing her status as the top contender for the All England title.
The Korean star dominated from the start, using sharp crosscourt smashes to control the game. Chen struggled to contain An’s relentless attack, and after trailing 5-11 at the mid-game interval, she never found a way back, losing the first game 9-21.
In the second game, An raced to an 8-0 lead, putting immense pressure on the former Olympic champion. Though Chen fought back in the latter stages, reducing the gap, it was too little, too late, as An sealed the victory 21-14.
With this win, An moves into the semifinals, where she will face Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi.

After the match, Shi Yu Qi spoke about his preparation, saying, “Loh is always a dangerous opponent. His speed and attacking play are among the best, so I had to stay patient and take my chances. I think we both played an aggressive game today.”
On facing teammate Li Shi Feng in the semifinals, Shi added, “We know each other well. Every time we play, it’s different. He will have his strategy, and I will have mine. I just have to go all out and fight for a place in the final.”
